My client is a leading independent, London-based, Private Investment Office managing capital of around 20 wealthy families and institutions. They oversee approximately $3bn of capital for these clients, providing a mix of outsourced CIO and discretionary investment management services. They are now looking for a Finance Principal to take on roles which were previously outsourced.
The Role
- Finance (estimated 70% of time)
- Preparation of management accounts;
- Preparation of annual budget;
- Completing and submitting FCA returns accurately and on time;
- Preparation and collation of information for board packs;
- Cashflow management including weekly payment runs and bank and credit card reconciliations;
- Quarterly client invoicing;
- Preparation of year-end financial statements;
- Supporting external auditors as required;
- Ensuring good systems and processes to enable timely management reporting;
- Tax management (VAT returns, Corporation tax returns, payments to HMRC, consortium relief etc).
- Attending quarterly compliance monitoring meetings;
- Preparation and maintenance of the ICARA document;
- Preparation of annual AMLRO and SYSC reports;
- Maintaining gift, entertainment, conflicts, approved person and breaches registers;
- Working with HR on training policy, annual F&P reviews and PA trading returns are completed;
- Ensuring conflicts policy is maintained and updated where appropriate;
- Ensuring website disclosures and policies are updated;
- Ensuring management is kept abreast of any new reporting or regulatory requirements.
- Assist in consolidated reporting for private clients;
- Assist with tax queries;
- Act as an outsourced provider of (non-investment related) family office services.
Candidate background
- First class academic background, up to degree level;
- Minimum A-level qualifications (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Economics or have done a quantitative degree;
- Qualified UK accountant (ACA) with good understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis and reporting standards;
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a finance role in a related field – e.g. a (multi) family office, asset manager or private equity / hedge fund;
- Previous experience of FCA returns and some familiarity of the regulatory environment would be helpful but not essential.
