Stephen James Consulting is partnering with a respected, family-run care provider to recruit an experienced Home Manager for a large, Good CQC-rated elderly care home in Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a provider with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, person-centred care across a small portfolio of homes. With a hands-on senior leadership team and a genuine family feel, managers are trusted to lead their services with autonomy while receiving the support they need to succeed. The role has become available due to an internal promotion, creating an exciting opportunity to lead an established service providing residential, nursing and dementia care.

The Role

As Home Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care while delivering strong operational and commercial performance. You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading, developing and inspiring your team
  • Maintaining compliance with CQC standards and regulatory requirements
  • Driving occupancy and building positive relationships within the local community
  • Managing budgets and financial performance
  • Ensuring high standards of clinical governance and person-centred care
  • Supporting residents, families and colleagues to create a positive and caring environment
  • Working closely with senior leadership to continue developing the service

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a Registered Home Manager within elderly care
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and a track record of maintaining high-quality standards
  • Experience leading residential, nursing or dementia services
  • Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills
  • Commercial awareness, including occupancy, budgets and performance management
  • An active NMC PIN (RGN or RMN) would be advantageous, although experienced non-nurse Home Managers will also be considered
