Stephen James Consulting is partnering with a well-established and highly regarded elderly care provider in South West London to recruit an experienced Deputy Manager (RGN). The successful candidate will work closely with the Registered Manager to support the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring consistently high clinical standards, robust compliance, and strong team performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Registered Manager with the overall leadership and operational management of the service
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred clinical care
  • Provide strong clinical leadership and guidance to nursing and care teams
  • Maintain full compliance with CQC regulations, policies, and clinical governance standards
  • Monitor care quality, clinical outcomes, and service performance
  • Support staff supervision, development, and performance management
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives
  • Foster a positive, supportive culture focused on resident wellbeing and excellence in care
  • Maintain effective communication with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a valid and active NMC PIN
  • Current nursing experience with a strong clinical background
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Deputy Manager within a care home setting
  • Ideally 2+ years of leadership or management experience within elderly care services
  • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and clinical governance requirements
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
  • Good IT skills and experience using care management systems
  • Passion for delivering outstanding care and leading high-performing teams
