What is the role?
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our growing central London office, on Worship Street in Shoreditch for a Principal Architect.
The role would ideally suit an individual who is motivated to develop their experience working with our major clients on a varied selection of projects in the Commercial Office & Fit Out, Mid-Rise Residential, Mixed-use and Industrial sectors.
What does the role entail?
- Project running, possibly in multiple sectors.
- Working with colleagues to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
Front End Work
- Taking early-stage client briefs and working these up to footprints and feasibility studies to meet their standards.
- Visiting sites to gain an appreciation of the context and to carry out the necessary analysis.
- Producing information packs for planning which meet the local requirements.
- Attending stakeholder meetings to add detail to the project brief.
Delivery Work
- Running a project and being the primary point of contact with contractors.
- The production of drawings, mainly in Revit, but occasionally AutoCAD.
- Working in small project-based teams within a larger office
- Leading on projects with established Revit model protocols which must be adhered to.
- Mentoring colleagues to develop their skills in project running.
- Working with others to assist them to produce technical details for on-site construction.
What Skills & Experience do I need to have?
- Lead roles on projects in the commercial sector preferably in two of the three sectors mentioned above.
- Excellent knowledge of the UK Building Regulations and their application to projects.
- Mentoring skills which can be demonstrated in your previous experience.
- Proven use of Revit on construction projects and a good understanding of the package.
- Significant detailing and construction knowledge, you will be the key point of contact for others to get advice in order to get project information out to third parties.
- Very good oral communication skills to build rapport with the client and the other parties involved in the project.
- Self-motivation and the ability to also work independently.
- An openness to take constructive feedback, which will be given to assist in your development.
- Accountability for the information produced, ensuring it meets the required standards that the practice adheres to.
- Excellent written and well-structured drawings skills.
- Proficiency in adobe suite including, Photoshop and InDesign.
- Knowledge of the London Plan
