An opportunity has arisen in our Leicester office for an Architect/ Architectural Technologist or Architectural Technician to work in our I&L team (Industrial & Logistics). The role would ideally suit an individual with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience and who is motivated to develop their experience working with our major clients, leading on a varied selection of projects.
What does the role entail?
- Working with colleagues to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Taking a brief and actioning this within agreed periods of time.
- Visiting site for Design Team Meetings, site reviews, snagging and client/contractor meetings.
- Producing information packs for planning which meet the local requirements.
- Coordinating with our internal CGI team images of the development when they are required.
- Attending upfront stakeholder meetings to add detail to the project brief.
- Leading on the production of Design & Access statements and planning approval requirements.
- Working on large scale masterplans, ensuring all legal and other requirements are added in order to establish site parameters.
- The production of construction drawings, mainly in Revit, but occasionally AutoCAD.
- Working in small project-based teams within a larger sector specific team.
What Skills & Experience do I need to have?
- Lead roles or significant supporting roles on projects in the commercial sector.
- Proven use of Revit on construction projects and a good understanding of the package.
- Good oral communication skills to build rapport with the client and the other parties involved in the project.
- Experience of working on projects in the logistics/distribution sector, though this is not essential.
- Self-motivation and the ability to also work independently.
- An openness to take constructive feedback, which will be given to assist in your development.
- Accountability for the information produced, ensuring it meets the required standards that the practice adheres to.
- Excellent written and well-structured drawing skills.
- A good understanding of construction and technical detailing to produce clear and well-structured drawings.
