An excellent opportunity to join an established accountancy practice as an office based full time bookkeeper, with offices in Hornchurch (London Borough of Havering) and Loughton (Essex) working within the bookkeeping & VAT department. The practice is well respected with a varied local client base and provides a modern approach to the profession. It has a strong professional workforce and an extremely high staff retention rate. There is a vibrant and dynamic working environment.
The practice is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join the team who is:
- Ideally qualified to AAT level, but happy to consider persons qualified by experience with a very good knowledge of VAT workings and ability to produce Returns.
- Have a good and varied knowledge of current computer based packages, ideally having experience in Freeagent, Kashflow, Xero or Sage bookkeeping.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients and their monthly/quarterly bookkeeping and VAT requirements using cloud based software packages.
- Monthly reconciliation of control accounts (bank, payroll, VAT).
- Communication with clients to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
- Data entry of clients' receipts and expenses.
Salary around £23k, depending on experience/qualifications.
