StepChange is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its engineering functions, ensuring teams deliver scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions aligned with business goals.
You will drive modernisation, Agile and DevOps maturity, and continuous improvement across the full application lifecycle, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. As a senior technology leader, you'll oversee Software Engineering, Quality Assurance, Integration, Business Applications, and Application Support, shaping both established and emerging capabilities.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the transformation and modernisation of engineering and application functions, integrating Agile, DevOps, and automation best practices.
- Oversee architecture, code quality, testing, integration, and support operations, ensuring scalable, efficient solutions.
- Shape a cohesive, high-performing technology function that drives innovation and operational excellence.

About you:
In this role, you'll scale high-performing teams, foster leadership development, and navigate complex stakeholder relationships to ensure seamless cross-functional programme delivery. Your expertise in enterprise software development, integration architectures, and application lifecycle management will be instrumental in modernising legacy systems, embedding CI/CD, test automation, and DevSecOps practices while leveraging both traditional and cloud-based technologies such as .NET, SQL, and AWS.
Beyond driving Agile and DevOps transformation, you'll embed measurable engineering practices, ensuring efficiency and innovation in delivery.
