This school is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant to join their vibrant and supportive school community. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with older primary pupils as they prepare for transition to secondary school – academically, emotionally and socially. Beginning June 2025.

Duties as a Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons
  • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
  • Supporting pupils with varying needs, including those with SEND or EAL
  • Assisting with classroom organisation, displays, and preparation of resources
  • Promoting positive behaviour and fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment

Ideal Year 5/6 Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in upper Key Stage 2
  • A relevant TA qualification (e.g. Level 2/3) or willingness to train
  • Patience, flexibility, and excellent communication skills
  • A genuine enthusiasm for helping children achieve their best
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child development
