Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled SEN KS3 Teacher to join a dedicated secondary school team. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives on supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and is committed to inclusive, high-quality teaching. 11 KS3 pupils with a wide range of needs (PMLD–MLD), supported by 3 Teaching Assistants, following a differentiated National Curriculum. Starting November 2025.

Duties

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the KS3 curriculum, adapted to meet the needs of students with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, moderate learning difficulties).

  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans in collaboration with the SENCo, teaching assistants and external professionals.

  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum and achieve progress.

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to parents, carers and colleagues.

  • Create a positive, supportive classroom environment that fosters confidence, independence and social development.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching KS3 students, ideally within an SEN or inclusive setting.

  • Strong understanding of current SEN strategies and inclusive classroom practices.

  • Excellent communication, organisational and teamworking skills as SEN KS3 Teacher.

  • Patience, empathy and the ability to build positive relationships with students and families.
