We are seeking committed SEMH Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs across a variety of school settings. These flexible opportunities are ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a supportive environment.
Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist teachers in creating a calm and inclusive classroom environment
- Implement behaviour management strategies and personalised support plans
- Support pupils’ emotional well-being and encourage positive social interactions
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Promote resilience and independence in pupils through tailored interventions
Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
- Ability to build trusting and positive relationships with pupils
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
- Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
