Step Teachers are seeking qualified Early Years Practitioners for daily supply roles across nurseries in Islington and the surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible. This opportunity is within a range of nurturing and inclusive early years settings that prioritise the development, safety, and happiness of every child. Responsibilities

  • Support children’s learning and development through play-based activities
  • Assist with planning and delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging environment for all children
  • Observe and record children’s progress, sharing insights with colleagues and parents
  • Support children with personal care routines where required
  • Work collaboratively with nursery staff to meet individual needs
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant nursery or early years qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare)
  • Proven experience working in nursery or early years settings
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills as Early Years Practitioners
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
