Are you a passionate KS1 SEN TA who wants to make a difference in the lives of students with complex needs? Do you have experience as a KS1 SEN TA working with individuals who require additional support in an educational setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Step Teachers are working with a Primary School in Havering and are seeking a KS1 SEN TA to join a school that champions high aspirations and also contribute to raising the achievement of students. Please note this is a long-term role and it is expected to start in November 2024.
Key Responsibilities of a KS1 SEN TA:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, assisting with their educational and personal development.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
- Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment, promoting independence and confidence.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to implement tailored support plans for students with SEN.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to comprehensive assessments and reports.
Requirements of a KS1 SEN TA:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN experience is essential.
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in different educational settings.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable but not essential.
