We are seeking a flexible and dependable General Cover Teacher to join a dedicated school team and provide high-quality cover across a range of subjects and year groups. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a General Cover Teacher:

Deliver pre-prepared lessons and activities in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.

Ensure continuity of learning and maintain high standards of teaching and behaviour.

Adapt quickly to different subjects and year groups as required.

Supervise pupils, manage the classroom effectively, and ensure a safe and positive learning environment.

Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management.

Liaise with teaching and support staff to ensure that pupils remain on track.

Provide feedback to relevant staff on pupil progress or any issues arising during cover.
Ideal General Cover Teacher:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

Ability to teach confidently across multiple subjects and year groups (usually KS3 & KS4).

Strong classroom management skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills as a General Cover Teacher.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Previous experience in a cover or supply role is desirable but not essential.
