This school is a vibrant and nurturing primary school with a strong commitment to early years development. We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to support our Reception class and help create a positive, stimulating environment where young children can thrive. Beginning June 2025.

Duties as an EYFS Teaching Assistant:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom and outdoor provision
  • Assist with setting up activities, displays, and learning resources
  • Observe and record children's progress and contribute to learning journals
  • Encourage children's independence, confidence, and social skills
  • Support children with personal care needs as required (e.g., toileting, dressing)
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in line with school policies
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and whole-school events as required

Ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant:

  • Hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or be working towards one)
  • Have experience working with young children in a school, nursery, or early years setting
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the EYFS framework as an EYFS Teaching Assistant
  • Be patient, nurturing, and committed to supporting every child's development
  • Be able to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with adults and children
  • Have a proactive and positive attitude towards learning and improvement
  • Understand safeguarding and child protection procedures
