Class Act is seeking supply English teachers in the Abingdon area and surrounding areas to join our pool of supply staff as soon as possible. These flexible opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Follow school planning or adapt lessons to suit pupil needs
- Manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment
- Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback
- Support pupils in developing literacy, analytical and communication skills
- Collaborate with colleagues to support whole-school initiatives
- Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Specialism in English or a related subject
- Experience teaching English in secondary schools
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Adaptable and confident working across different year groups
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
