This school is seeking a passionate and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking and well-resourced Technology Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to empower students through hands-on, project-based learning in areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and/or Textiles. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a Design Technology Teacher:
- Deliver engaging and challenging DT lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 if applicable)
- Plan, prepare and assess work in accordance with the national curriculum
- Promote innovation, problem-solving, and independent thinking
- Manage a safe and organised workshop or studio environment
- Support students in coursework and practical projects, especially for GCSE and/or vocational qualifications
Ideal Design Technology Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in DT or a related field
- Strong subject knowledge in one or more areas of DT (e.g., Product Design, Engineering, Textiles)
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Design Technology Teacher
- A commitment to fostering creativity and technical skills
- A collaborative, reflective approach to teaching
