We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and experienced Deputy Headteacher to join their leadership team and support the school in achieving its goals of academic excellence, personal development, and community engagement. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as a Deputy Headteacher:

  • Assist the Headteacher in the leadership, management, and strategic direction of the school.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the school, ensuring the smooth running of all areas.
  • Lead and manage staff, providing support, guidance, and professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement across all key stages.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of key school policies and initiatives.
  • Oversee curriculum development and ensure it is both challenging and inclusive.
  • Foster a positive school culture where students are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Work closely with governors, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage and develop whole-school systems for student wellbeing, behaviour, and safeguarding.
  • Deputise for the Headteacher in their absence, ensuring continuity of leadership.

Ideal Deputy Headteacher:

  • A degree in Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Significant leadership experience, ideally in a senior role (e.g., Assistant Headteacher, Head of Department).
  • A proven track record of improving student outcomes and driving school improvement.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, student wellbeing, and pastoral care.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire staff and students alike.
