Class Act Teaching Services are looking for a Cover Supervisor to start a permanent role from September in a Secondary School in Reading. The role of a Cover Supervisor is to provide cover for lessons when the regular teacher is absent, using the lessons plans to supervise and manage the classroom and the behaviour within.

Cover Supervisor roles are a great option for people who are considering becoming a teacher and want to build their experience and confidence in the classroom. You will be provided with all relevant training before you start the role and the successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm and a natural ability to build rapport with both students and staff.

Cover Supervisor Role:

  • Cover lessons in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Ensure the class are on target with the pre-set work
  • Effectively manage the behaviour of the class
  • Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
  • Working with other members of staff within the classroom and throughout the school

Cover Supervisor Requirements:

  • Completed undergraduate degree or higher
  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor in Secondary School or working with Secondary School age students
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positivity and confidence when speaking with others
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
