Step Teachers are currently seeking Music Teachers in Islington and surrounding areas to support secondary schools with day-to-day cover across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Duties as Music Teacher

  • Deliver engaging music lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum
  • Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and school routines
  • Inspire students through practical and theoretical music activities
  • Manage behaviour effectively and ensure pupil safety
  • Leave feedback for the class teacher and complete marking where required
  • Support students in developing performance, composition and listening skills

Ideal Music Teacher

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has recent experience teaching music in UK secondary schools
  • Is confident working with a range of musical styles and instruments
  • Demonstrates strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Is flexible, reliable and enthusiastic about supply teaching
  • Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply for one
