Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately. These flexible opportunities are ideal for support staff who want to make a meaningful impact across different school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Hammersmith and the surrounding areas, helping autistic learners access the curriculum, build independence, and develop communication and social skills.

Duties as Autism Specialist:

  • Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for autistic pupils
  • Assist teachers in delivering structured, differentiated, and autism‑friendly learning activities
  • Implement individual education plans, sensory programmes, and visual support strategies
  • Support pupils with communication needs, including the use of AAC, PECS, or visual timetables
  • Promote emotional regulation and provide strategies to manage anxiety
  • Encourage positive peer interactions and social engagement
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate key information to staff
  • Contribute to the wider school environment during longer‑term placements

Ideal Autism Specialist:
