We are seeking adaptable and confident General Cover Teachers to provide high-quality classroom supervision across a variety of subjects and year groups. This role is ideal for qualified teachers who enjoy variety and want the flexibility to choose when and where they work. Starting September 2025.
Duties as General Cover Teacher
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in different subjects, ensuring continuity of learning when the class teacher is absent.
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a calm, productive learning environment.
- Provide brief feedback on pupil engagement and progress to the relevant department.
- Quickly adapt to different school settings, policies and key stages.
Ideal General Cover Teacher
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Recent experience teaching in a secondary school setting.
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills as General Cover Teacher.
- Ability to teach a range of subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4 (a specialist subject is desirable but not essential).
- Valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
