Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual learning needs
- Create a safe, inclusive environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Work closely with support staff and external agencies to meet pupils’ holistic needs
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as required
- Encourage resilience, independence, and social skills development
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching pupils in alternative provision or SEMH settings
- Strong knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with behavioural and emotional challenges
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
