Looking to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teaching, educational psychology or a career in education? This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive primary school in Hounslow, working with academically able pupils who benefit from additional support with their social, emotional and mental health (SEMH).
The school is looking for someone who is calm under pressure, emotionally intelligent and able to build positive relationships with children, while maintaining high expectations and supporting their academic development across the Key Stage 2 curriculum.

Valuable hands-on experience in a welcoming primary school.
-
The opportunity to develop your understanding of SEMH and inclusive education.
-
Experience supporting academically able pupils to achieve their full potential.
-
Guidance and support from an experienced teaching team.
-
Excellent preparation for future teacher training or a career in educational psychology.
-
Competitive weekly pay of £500–£510 based on a 6 hour day.
Your Role
-
Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
-
Build positive, trusting relationships, helping children develop confidence, resilience and emotional regulation.
-
Support pupils with their academic learning across the KS2 curriculum, including English and Maths.
-
Adapt your approach to meet individual learning and emotional needs.
-
Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence through a calm and consistent approach.
-
Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils' progress and wellbeing.
-
Help create a positive learning environment where every child feels supported, understood and challenged.
We're Looking For

A confident communicator who can build strong relationships with children and staff.

Someone academically capable and confident supporting the KS2 curriculum.
-
A proactive individual who can use their initiative and adapt to changing situations.
-
A genuine interest in SEMH, SEND and understanding the factors that can affect children's learning and behaviour.
Previous experience supporting children with SEN or SEMH is desirable but not essential. The right attitude, resilience and willingness to learn are just as important. Training and ongoing support will be provided.

Develop a valuable combination of pastoral, behavioural and classroom skills.
