SEN Teaching Assistant – Outdoor Learning & Forest School

Location: LE14
Setting: Specialist SEN School
Hours: Monday to Friday, term time
Pay:£500 per week

Love the outdoors? Want to make a real difference?

Are you a creative, energetic and outdoorsy person who loves helping children learn, grow and discover the world around them?

We’re looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in the LE14 area, where learning goes beyond the classroom and the outdoors plays a huge part in everyday life.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys getting stuck in, thinking outside the box and helping children develop confidence, independence and new skills in a unique, nature-focused environment.

What makes this role special?

This isn't your typical classroom-based TA role! The school embraces outdoor learning, giving pupils opportunities to explore, learn and develop through nature, practical activities and hands-on experiences.

You could be supporting pupils with activities such as exploring woodland areas, nature-based learning, creative outdoor projects and practical tasks that encourage teamwork, communication and independence.

What we're looking for

  • Someone creative, enthusiastic and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

  • A genuine love of the outdoors and an interest in nature-based learning.

  • Someone patient, nurturing and adaptable, who can build positive relationships with pupils.

  • A positive, hands-on approach and a willingness to get involved in outdoor activities in all kinds of weather.

  • Someone who can think creatively to engage pupils with different learning needs.

  • Previous SEN experience is desirable, but the right attitude and personality are just as important.

Experience with forest school activities, outdoor education, SEMH or ASD would be a bonus!

Why consider this opportunity?

  • A unique specialist school environment where outdoor learning is at the heart of the approach.

  • The chance to make a meaningful difference to children who benefit from a more practical, hands-on learning experience.

  • An opportunity to develop your skills and experience within SEN education.

  • A rewarding role where no two days are quite the same.
