The postholder will support young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to succeed in real workplace settings as part of a Supported Internship programme. The purpose of the role is to enable interns to develop job skills, confidence and independence, so they can progress towards sustained paid employment. Support is gradually reduced as independence increases. The postholder will bridge the gap between education and employment, focusing on skill-building and independence. Support provided is time-limited and focused.
Responsibilities- Support young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to succeed in real workplace settings as part of a Supported Internship programme.
- Enable interns to develop job skills, confidence and independence, so they can progress towards sustained paid employment.
- Bridge the gap between education and employment, focusing on skill-building and independence.
- Provide time-limited and focused support.
- Maths and English at secondary education level or demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint/databases and SharePoint.
- Experience supporting young people or adults with SEND and/or additional needs.
- Understanding of inclusive practice and reasonable adjustments.
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
- Ability to prioritise and self-manage.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
