You will be required to provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the setting as well as to thesupport staff within the setting/team.You will work as part of a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop and learn, helping them tobuild and maintain strong partnerships, as well as working with parents to making sure children\’s needs are met.You will be required to read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and the safe running of the setting and tobe aware of the high profile of the setting upholding its standards at all times, both during work hours and outside.Some of your responsibilities will include:SafeguardingAdvise Manager/SENCO of any concerns, e.g. over children, parents, the safety of the environment, preserving confidentiality as necessaryKeep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff that is acquired as part of the jobInclusionEnsure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children having an awareness of any disabilities, family cultures and medical historiesPromote fairness and equality in the workplaceHave awareness of the \”British values\”Work with outside agencies/professionals in the provision for additional support for the childrenHealth & SafetyEnsure good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all timesBe flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snacks, meals, cleansing of equipment, etcContribute to carrying out daily checklists and monthly risk assessments within the roomUse the nursery equipment effectively and consider the health and safety requirementsPartnershipsSupport all staff and engage in a good staff teamDevelop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needsWork alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the setting\’s philosophy is fulfilledDevelop your role within the team, especially with regard to being a key personSupport nursery assistants, students and volunteersWork with other agencies in support of children as needed (see Inclusion)Professional DevelopmentTo be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, etcComplete 3 core training courses (1staid, safeguarding, food safety) funded by the companyActively seek further ways of improving performance and/or qualificationRecord KeepingEffectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interest of children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members) by planning, observations and assessmentsKeep records of your key children\’s development and learning journeys and share with parents, carers and other key adults in the child\’s life.
