We are in search of an energetic, patient, and compassionate person to work one on one with an individual with Developmental Disabilities who lives in Downingtown, Chester County. The DSP (IHCS) supports this person with assistance such as personal hygiene, preparing meals, driving to appointments, housekeeping and leisure activities. The candidate for this position will use their personal vehicle to transport the individual to outings. The agency will reimburse the staff for work-related expenses and mileage.

As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Your primary focus will be to provide compassionate care and support in various settings, including home and community environments. This position requires a dedicated individual who is patient, observant, and committed to fostering independence and dignity among the people you serve.

All Team Members must:

  • be 18 years of age or older
  • have a current driver's license with no suspensions or points within the past three years
  • possess a high school diploma or GED
  • have no prohibitive criminal offenses
  • have a Vehicle (Required)

*Company reimburses Mileage

DSP Responsibilities

  • Assist individual with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Provide support in community integration activities to promote social skills and independence.
  • Observe and document clients' behaviours and progress, reporting any significant changes to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by ensuring that living spaces are tidy and organized.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Facilitate recreational activities that encourage engagement and enhance the well-being of individuals.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations while providing care.
