Salary: £30,784 per annum (Pro Rata)
Hourly Rate: £16.43 - £18.43 per hour
Hours per Week: 35 hours (additional hours may be required based on operational requirements)
Mode: On-site
Note:
The role is 35 hours per week, although additional hours may be required depending on operational requirements.
The working pattern includes evenings and alternate weekends.
The successful candidate may occasionally be required to stay overnight (sleepovers), subject to operational needs.
Where overnight stays present a challenge, the Client may consider a working arrangement comprising afternoon shifts and alternate weekends, subject to operational requirements and mutual agreement.
The position will initially commence on a 4-week trial period. Subject to satisfactory performance, the assignment will continue as an agency worker on our payroll.
The duration of the assignment is currently open-ended and will depend on the Client's operational requirements and available budget.
Job Purpose
Our Client is seeking a professional, reliable and discreet Assistant Housekeeper to support the smooth day-to-day running of the Official Residence.
This is a varied, hands-on role requiring an individual who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high housekeeping standards while also assisting with meal preparation, hospitality and domestic duties.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Housekeeper to ensure the residence is maintained to an excellent standard and is prepared for official meetings and events.
Given the nature of the residence, the successful candidate must demonstrate professionalism, discretion and complete confidentiality at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the residence.
- Maintain the property to a consistently high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Carry out general housekeeping duties, including cleaning throughout the residence.
- Undertake laundry, ironing, wardrobe care and linen management.
- Prepare meals and refreshments as required.
- Assist with catering and hospitality for official functions and events.
- Welcome and provide access to visitors, contractors, suppliers and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure household supplies are appropriately maintained and organised.
- Support the Housekeeper with the smooth operation of the residence.
- Assist with setting up rooms and preparing the residence for meetings and official engagements.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety.
- Follow instructions from the Housekeeper and undertake additional duties as required.
- Exercise absolute discretion and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in housekeeping, hospitality, domestic services or a similar role.
- Experience preparing meals and refreshments.
- Excellent cleaning and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and alternate weekends.
- Professional, trustworthy and highly discreet.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within a private residence while maintaining confidentiality.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working within a private household, embassy, official residence, executive environment, luxury hospitality or similar setting.
- Previous experience supporting formal hospitality or events.
- Food hygiene certification (desirable but not essential).
