Our client is a fast‑growing UK cloud technology provider specialising in cloud hosting, disaster recovery, backup, and data protection solutions. We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive 100% new business growth within the SME market.
The Role
- A pure new‑business role focused on new logo acquisition and winning high‑value SME customers (typically organisations with 100–250 employees).
- Define and execute the business development strategy to achieve revenue and market growth targets.
- Drive new business across cloud hosting, disaster recovery, backup, and data protection.
- Align closely with marketing on campaigns, GTM activity, and positioning.
- Represent the brand at industry events, conferences, and key networking opportunities.
- Convert a blend of self‑generated opportunities and inbound leads from the SDR team.
- Manage varied sales cycles, typically 30 days to 6 months depending on solution complexity.
About You
- A proven B2B technology sales professional with experience selling cloud, hosted infrastructure, managed services, DR, cyber, or related technology solutions.
- A direct sales background (not reseller/channel).
- A strong track record of acquiring new customers and closing high‑value deals.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles of 30 days to 6 months.
- Commercial resilience with the ability to build relationships at senior stakeholder level.
- A strategic yet hands‑on approach, with strong self‑motivation and results focus.
Ideal backgrounds include MSPs, cloud hosting providers, managed cloud platforms, DRaaS/backup providers, and enterprise technology solution providers.
