Mission

The Senior Technical Program Manager will lead end-to-end development and deployment programs for complex semiconductor test systems. The role integrates technical leadership, program governance, and cross-functional coordination to ensure delivery of high-performance equipment that meets customer, engineering, and business objectives. Acting as the technical and operational anchor for multidisciplinary teams, the position drives execution from concept through validation, introduction into manufacturing, and successful customer adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, thermal, software, automation, and systems integration domains.
  • Define and manage program schedules, budgets, resources, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Report program status, risks, and decision points to management and executive stakeholders.
  • Oversee change control, risk mitigation, and resource allocation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and incorporate lessons learned into future development cycles.

Technical System Development

  • Direct the engineering execution of complex test systems for advanced semiconductor devices.
  • Translate customer and product requirements into engineering plans, performance specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Supervise design reviews, system validation, integration, and release of sub-assemblies and full systems.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant safety and regulatory standards (e.g., SEMI S2/S8, F47, CE).
  • Lead Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) and Design-for-Test (DFT) activities.

Data Analysis & Quality Assurance

  • Analyze reliability, yield, and performance data to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Apply structured methodologies such as FMEA, 8D, DMAIC, fishbone, and Kaizen.
  • Support development of production, reliability, and system-level tests to ensure robust product performance.
  • Collaborate with product management and customers to define scope, risks, and program strategies.
  • Evaluate supplier technical capabilities and participate in sourcing decisions.
  • Contribute to technical proposals and support new business opportunities.

Process Development & Mentorship

  • Develop cross-organizational processes, templates, and phase-gate frameworks for product lifecycle management.
  • Deliver training material to enhance team proficiency in program execution.
  • Mentor junior engineers and program managers, promoting a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and innovation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in technical program management within semiconductor capital equipment, high-complexity electromechanical systems, or similar advanced-technology industries.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across complete product lifecycles, from concept and NPI through pilot and high-volume manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-million-dollar programs with global teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with wafer handling, automated probers, ATE integration, or precision instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, thermal, and system integration principles for semiconductor equipment.
  • Proficiency applying SEMI S2/S8, SEMI F47, CE, and related standards.
  • Hands-on experience with DFM/DFT, reliability engineering, structured problem-solving, and quality tools (FMEA, 8D, DMAIC).
  • Experience working under ISO-based processes such as ISO 9001:2015.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in Excel, JMP, Tableau, or Python-based analysis.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Confluence, and Jira.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to synthesize technical content for executive and customer audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with international teams and suppliers, including travel as required.

Preferred Experience

  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • PMP certification.
  • Background in semiconductor metrology, test equipment, or advanced automation systems.
  • Experience developing company-wide program frameworks, risk-management processes, and technical review structures.
