Are you ready to take the lead in keeping our vessels fully crewed, compliant and ready to operate—every single day? As Crewing Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for driving the day-to-day delivery of crewing operations across our UK fleet. Sitting at the centre of a fast-moving and highly operational environment, you’ll coordinate schedules, solve complex challenges and support the team to ensure our vessels are always staffed with the right people, in the right place, at the right time. This is a pivotal role where your leadership, planning and decision-making will directly impact operational performance, regulatory compliance and the experience of our crews onboard.
Some Of Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day crewing operations across SMD and OSS, ensuring schedules are delivered efficiently and in line with operational requirements.
- Act as the primary escalation point for the crewing team, supporting the resolution of complex, time‑critical operational challenges.
- Provide cover for the Head of Crewing UK when required, including representing the function in internal and external meetings.
- Ensure all vessels are manned with fully qualified and certified crew, in line with STCW, MLC and Flag State requirements.
- Plan and manage crew reliefs to ensure smooth, timely and cost‑efficient crew changes.
- Monitor and support crewing costs, working closely with Ship Management and contributing to reporting and budget oversight.
- Prepare and deliver manpower planning insights and crewing reports to support decision-making.
- Work closely with third‑party crewing and manning agencies, including overseeing agreements and supporting audit activities.
- Support recruitment and selection activities for SMD and OSS crews, ensuring future crewing needs are anticipated and planned for.
- Coordinate visa, immigration and certification requirements to enable seamless crew changes.
- Collaborate with Operations, Technical and OSS teams to ensure the right people are assigned to the right vessels.
- Contribute to industrial relations activities, including engagement with maritime unions and collective agreements.

The team works closely with Operations, Technical and Onboard departments, creating a strong sense of shared purpose and teamwork. You’ll have regular interaction with international crews and stakeholders across the business, as well as opportunities to visit vessels. Qualifications
- Experience supervising or coordinating a team in an operational environment.
- Experience within marine HR, crewing or manning operations.
- Familiarity with crewing systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Good understanding of STCW, MLC and Flag State requirements.
- Able to communicate effectively in English with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Seafaring experience as a deck or engineer officer is an advantage.
