Are you a Master looking for a great work-life balance with excellent career advancement opportunities? Stena Line is hiring for a Fleet Mate Master with passenger vessel experience to join our fleet pool!
In this role, you will be a key support to our deck teams onboard while developing your skills and knowledge on our vessels. This role has no set location; you will have the opportunity to work on all of our Irish Sea vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the safe and efficient running of the vessel, mainly during night hours.
- Deputise for the Master (days) as required by the rosters.
- Report to the Fleet Superintendent and the Senior Master.
- Use and develop problem-solving skills in diverse scenarios.
- Manage designated areas of responsibility.
- Act in accordance with emergency procedures.
- Carry out maintenance as directed.
- Familiarize with ship\’s operating and navigational procedures.
- Manage risks to ship, personnel, and environment; establish safeguards.
- Report incidents, hazards, and deficiencies to management.
- Be familiar with SMS procedures.
- Support duties above your rank to ensure confidence and hands-on ability.
Experience & Qualifications
- STCW II/2 Master Unlimited CoC.
- Previous ship handling experience is essential; command experience is desirable.
- Work across the Irish Sea Fleet.
