Are you a 2nd Engineer seeking a great work-life balance with excellent career advancement opportunities?

Stena Line is looking for an experienced engineer to join our fleet pool! In this role, you will support our engine teams onboard while developing your skills and knowledge on our ferries. The position has no fixed location; you will work on all Irish Sea vessels.

As a Fleet Second Engineer, your responsibilities include:

  • Managing your designated areas as assigned by the Chief Engineer
  • Participating in the vessel\’s emergency procedures
  • Carrying out maintenance as directed by the Chief Engineer, following the Planned Maintenance Program
  • Familiarity with the ship\’s operating and technical procedures
  • Managing risks to the ship, personnel, and environment, and implementing safeguards
  • Reporting incidents, accidents, or deficiencies to the Chief Engineer
  • Understanding the SMS procedures within the DOCMAP system
  • Engaging actively in duties above your rank to build confidence and hands-on experience

  • STCW Elementary First Aid
  • STCW Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
  • STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
  • STCW Personal Survival Techniques
  • STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats
  • STCW Seafarers with Designated Security Duties
  • Chief Engineer Unlimited COC (must hold at application time)

Preferred:

  • Crowd Management Training
  • Passenger Safety Training
  • High Voltage Management Level
