Are you an Engine rating looking for a great work-life balance? Stena Line is recruiting Engine Ratings with passenger vessel experience to join the team on our Cairnryan - Belfast route!

As a Hotel Repair Man, you will work with planned maintenance jobs, operational duties and general maintenance of vessel parts managed by the Chief/ Second engineer.

Some Of Your Key Responsibilities

What You Will Experience

  • Acting in accordance with your responsibilities in the vessel's emergency organisation.
  • Be familiar with the relevant parts, procedures and requirements of the SMS contained within the DOCMAP system.
  • Overhauling and maintaining galley equipment and machinery.
  • Performing maintenance and repair of all piping related to hotel operations, such as fresh water, black water, grey water, pulper, drains, etc.
  • Conducting steelwork, including stainless steel fabrication, and pipe fittings.
  • Maintaining tools and records of maintenance activities.
  • Adhering to environmental policies and reporting any malfunctions to supervision.
  • The role requires knowledge in repair and maintenance of laundry equipment, plumbing equipment in galleys, welding, including Gas, Electric, TIG, and MIG, lathe machine, milling machine, and more. The position also demands the ability to work independently or as part of a team and to complete work orders issued by the Engine Foreman in a safe and efficient manner

The role involves various working hours as the vessel runs on a 24-hour schedule.

The Must-Haves

  • Fluent in English
  • Basic STCW training and ENG1 certificates
  • Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat training
  • Engine Watch Rating certificate (III/4) OR Able Seafarer Engine (III/5) CoC
  • Passenger vessel experience is preferred but not essential

We have full-time, permanent positions within the Stena Superfast 7 engine departments.
