An opportunity has arisen for a Freight Customer Service Agent to join our exciting and dynamic Freight Customer Service team in Belfast. Reporting to the Freight Reservations & CST Manager, you will assist with the efficient processing of all freight bookings and enquiries and the development and maintenance of strong customer relationships.

Working a 37 hour week on a 9 week rolling roster covering Monday - Sunday, shift times ranging between 07:30am to 22:00pm.

  • Allocation of space for daily freight booking and block booking on all Company routes.
  • Dealing with customer enquiries and processing dangerous goods bookings.
  • Working closely with Indoor Sales Team and Area Sales Managers to promote and develop new business.
  • Assisting with rate quotations in line with Company pricing strategy.
  • Promotion of Company Freight services across the route network, providing support and assistance.
  • Liaising with Port Operations Teams to ensure customers receive the highest level of service.
  • Handling manifest discrepancies and invoice queries.
  • Provision of support to all functions within the freight team.
  • Attending relevant Company and customer meetings and visiting port locations when required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' customer service experience ideally within the travel/transport industry.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A strong customer focus and a good telephone manner.
  • Ability to work in a busy customer service and sales environment.
  • Possess confidence and a good business sense.
  • A focused and self-motivated approach to work.
  • Detail conscious and have good numerical skills, enter data quickly and accurately.
