Key Responsibilities
As a Subsea Support Engineer, you will work closely with experienced Subsea Engineers, Superintendents, and offshore teams to support safe and efficient rig operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support for subsea pressure control equipment and associated systems.
- Assisting with inspections, maintenance planning, fault‑finding, and technical troubleshooting.
- Supporting offshore rig operations from an onshore engineering office.
- Assisting with subsea equipment overhaul planning, documentation, and asset management.
- Supporting the execution of subsea projects, upgrades, and modifications.
- Liaising with workshops, OEMs, and offshore personnel to resolve equipment and technical issues.
- Carrying out additional duties as directed by the Subsea Superintendents or Subsea Manager.
Candidate Profile
This role is well suited to candidates with a recognised mechanical apprenticeship, who are keen to progress into an engineering role:
- Completed a Mechanical Apprenticeship, HNC, or equivalent.
- Experience working in a workshop, maintenance, or operational engineering environment.
- Strong mechanical understanding of equipment, assemblies, and maintenance practices.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Willingness to develop engineering analysis, reporting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Comfortable working in an office‑based role while supporting offshore operations.
- Interest in progressing towards HND or Degree‑level engineering qualifications.
