As a global leader in life sciences research support, STEMCELL Technologies is looking to expand our team with a Manager, Instrumentation Manufacturing. In this role, you will support our team of technicians to help drive the technology behind innovative instruments that enable cutting edge life sciences research. You will oversee production operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize manufacturing efficiency. You will mentor and supervise technicians to optimize production efficiency, ensure safety compliance, and manage technical workflows in our manufacturing facility, while ensuring that the planning, manufacturing, and delivery of STEMCELL instruments satisfies sales and service demand. This is a highly collaborative role, having influence and liaising closely with Supply Chain Operations, Procurement, and Quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the instrumentation manufacturing team allocation, training, and career development to ensure deadlines and demands are met.
  • Oversee the physical instrumentation manufacturing facility, including workspace allocation, parts storage, and material flow aligned to scope, cost estimates, and scheduling.
  • Ensure health and safety rules and procedures are followed, and maintain compliance with ISO and other standards as necessary.
  • Implement creative and innovative approaches to drive continuous improvement of product design and manufacturing processes with a focus on efficiency and cost.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, to align manufacturing initiatives with business objectives.

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with 10+ years of production management experience in a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of high precision electro-mechanical assembly systems, as well as mechanical, electrical and optical component fabrication, assembly and calibration techniques.
  • Proficient with common ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Demonstrated manufacturing management and planning experience with multiple product lines; previous experience with GMP and/or clean room environments is an asset.
  • Previous experience in biological manufacturing or medical device fields is an asset.

The annual salary for this job ranges from: £61,500.00 - £92,300.00. STEMCELL determines an individual’s pay within the range based on multiple factors including experience, education, job-related skills, and equity within the team or organization. For jobs that are eligible for sales incentives, the range noted above is inclusive of target incentives; actual incentives are based on individual performance results in accordance with company policy. In addition to base salary, STEMCELL offers a comprehensive total rewards package that may include health benefits, retirement savings, and more (depending on region).
