STEMaccess is recruiting an exceptional full-time private tutor for a private family in Central London. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with two bright, advanced primary-age learners in a stimulating and supportive home environment.
The Role
You will design and deliver a bespoke Maths and Science education programme tailored to two children transitioning into the UK school system. This is not a standard tutoring role. You will be the primary academic support for the family, combining structured curriculum work with hands-on enrichment.
Responsibilities include:
- Bespoke lesson planning in Maths and Science, bridging international-UK curriculum differences
- Hands-on science experiments and projects (think kitchen chemistry, not just textbooks)
- "Real-world learning" visits: science museums, botanical gardens, university labs, and London's world-class cultural institutions
- Supporting the children's confidence and curiosity as they settle into a new country and school system
- Regular communication with parents on progress, goals, and next steps
- Approximately 40 hours per week, with flexibility around the family's schedule
- Competitive compensation offered. Occasional international travel may be required (travel and accommodation covered for international trips).
About You
- STEM degree from a leading UK university (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, or related). Oxbridge, Imperial, UCL, or Russell Group preferred.
- Experience tutoring or teaching primary-age learners, particularly those who are advanced, curious, or gifted
- Confident, warm communicator who can build genuine rapport with children and parents alike
- Highly organised and proactive
- Creative and resourceful. You see London as a classroom, not just a city.
- London-based with reliable weekday availability from late summer / early autumn 2026 into winter
- Willingness to travel when required
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) and strong professional references
