Main Purpose: The Foreman will be responsible for the efficient running of the manufacturing facility and to manufacture and deliver the highest quality product possible within the predetermined cost limits and established timescales.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Check estimated times and, if in doubt, agree with the works management manufacturing methods for each job to ensure agreed budget labour costs are not exceeded.
- Check quality of all products being manufactured. Inform the Works management of any non-conformance.
- Ensure that scrap and wastage is kept to a minimum.
- Liaise with the works management to ensure that non-productive/Non-chargeable time is minimised.
- Ensure that each worker is monitored for both quality and quantity of work and inform the works management of any issues regarding the same.
- Attend the weekly/Daily office meetings to advise/discuss work in progress and forward planning.
- Ensure that products/Services are delivered on time by assisting in the adequate planning, work allocation and awareness of the job.
- Supplement the shop floor by working on productive work as much as possible.
- Ensure all shop floor workforce adhere at all times to the company's health and safety policy and procedures.
- Ensure shop conditions are maintained and organised to provide a safe and efficient working environment.
- Bring to the attention of the administration manager and the managing director any situation which you feel could be at conflict with the company's H&S policy or procedures.
- All work is carried out to the company's quality procedures, a copy of which is kept in the Foreman's office for reference.
- Recommendations for improvements to the company's procedures and any training requirements.
- Monitor and implementation of all procedures.
- Assist Senior Project Manager in preparation for the yearly audit.
- Equipment is maintained to a standard conducive to manufacture of quality products.
- Ensure delivery notes, dimensional surveys/inspections are correctly completed for jobs and inform the Responsible Person that goods are ready for dispatch.
