Requirements:

  • A recent graduate with a First or 2:1 in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline from a top UK University.
  • Ability to work near Bristol and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Have a "can-do" attitude and a passion for hardware.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop electrical architectures, schematic captures, and PCB layouts.
  • Select appropriate electrical components (semiconductors, microcontrollers, passives, connectors) based on project requirements and constraints.
  • Assist in building, debugging, and bring-up of prototype circuit boards and electrical assemblies.
  • Conduct rigorous bench testing and hardware verification using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers to ensure designs meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Perform simulations and calculations for power consumption, thermal management, and signal integrity.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging component technologies, and international compliance standards (e.g., CE, UKCA, EMC regulations).

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or Bachelor's) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Strong foundational understanding of analogue and digital circuit design, power electronics, and electrical circuit theory.
  • Hands-on proficiency with electrical CAD and EDA software (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, OrCAD, or AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, or PSpice.
  • Basic understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN bus) is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and safety-first mindset.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
