Our client is seeking a Principal Scientist / Associate Director specialising in Computational Chemistry to join their team in the Midlands, however the role can be hybrid/remote. In this role, you will lead advanced research projects, develop computational models, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise chemical processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in chemistry, with proven expertise in computational techniques, and possess excellent leadership skills to guide junior scientists. You will be responsible for driving innovation and delivering scientific solutions aligned with company goals, ensuring rigorous data analysis and maintaining high standards of scientific integrity.
- Extensive experience in Computational Chemistry applied to Drug discovery. This experience will have been gained from working in a CRO, pharma or biotech company, or from academia.
- Proven scientific leadership and ability to guide complex technical decisions.
- Clear understanding of how computational chemistry integrates strategically with medicinal chemistry, biology, and DMPK to drive project success across portfolios.
- Skilled at leading multi‑disciplinary teams and ensuring high‑quality scientific outputs.
- Experience presenting at conferences or representing the organisation externally, ability to contribute to proposals, marketing materials and case studies. Awareness of competitor activity, market trends and customer needs.
