STEM Recruitment is seeking a permanent Product Development Engineer (I) for our client, FlexMedical Solutions, based in Livingston, Scotland. You will be part of a dynamic team supporting the development of diagnostic products from concept through to manufacturing within an ISO13485 environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to develop solutions, design feasibility experiments, generate technical documentation, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Provide hands‑on design experience, utilize modern manufacturing and metrology equipment, and apply proficiency in CAD software and statistical analysis tools.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a technical or engineering subject (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Experience with modern manufacturing equipment (lasers, robotics, liquid dispensers)
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as Solidworks or Draftsight
  • Ability to perform statistical analysis using Minitab
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods including rapid prototyping
  • Experience working within ISO13485 and regulatory standards (desirable)
  • Knowledge of biosensor design, DFM methodologies, and validation processes (highly desirable)
