Excellent opportunity for an experienced R&D professional to work for a life science company based in Glasgow. The role requires someone to lead group product development, taking new IVD devices from concept through to product launch for the molecular diagnostic market.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the new product development process from initiation to transfer to manufacturing and subsequent post-market technical dossier management, delivering to customer within an ISO 13485 framework.
  • Liaising with the Business Development team and external key opinion leaders/customers on preliminary product design specifications.
  • Interact with R&D, Production and Quality to ensure that products are developed, manufactured, QC tested and delivered to specifications and to schedule.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years' industrial experience in R&D leadership in a commercial product development capacity.
  • A background in the biological sciences with emphasis on molecular biology, microbiology and virology based diagnostics.
  • Experience in assay development, molecular diagnostics and nucleic acid amplification techniques.
