STEM Recruitment Solutions is searching for a Facilities Engineer to join our client based in Glasgow. This role is a temporary position for 12 months. In this role you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our client’s facility and ensuring optimal operational efficiency through planned and reactive maintenance as and when required. There is scope for this role to become a permanent position within the company.
As a Facilities Engineer, you will be required to:
- Fault find and repair building services and equipment – this can be anything from equipment in the production area, to faulty plumbing or groundskeeping.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Handle maintenance requests as and when they come in through the work order systems – document these tasks accurately on the system.
- Complete risk assessments prior to any maintenance in adherence to Health and Safety procedures.
- Work with other departments to plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimise effect on operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the department and site.
- Perform daily plant and utility checks.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Engineering qualification (apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or degree) in a relevant discipline.
- Open to junior or graduate-level candidates with limited hands-on experience, provided they have a strong engineering education background.
- Willingness to learn.
- Exposure to maintenance systems, facilities, or process equipment would be beneficial but not essential.
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday 08:00am – 16:00pm
Salary: Starting from £17.00 per hour depending on experience.
