Can you negotiate peace over a toy truck, celebrate finding a bug like it's the greatest discovery ever, and stay calm when someone cries because their toast broke in half? If so, we want to hear from you! At STEM Montessori, we're looking for a fun, energetic, and nurturing kaiako to join our busy Nikau toddler room. We are a boutique centre licensed for 75 tamariki, including 25 pēpi. Our toddler room licensed for 20 tamariki is currently at full capacity and has a waitlist.
Because we value quality interactions, we maintain a fantastic ratio of 1 kaiako to every 7 tamariki. Our toddlers are curious, adventurous, and always on the go. We're looking for someone who can match their energy, support their learning, and bring the calm when those big toddler emotions appear. You’ll be joining a well‑established teaching team who will support and guide you as you settle into the role. We follow a consistent daily routine that helps tamariki feel secure, confident, and valued.
We're proud to be a multicultural centre where every voice matters. We love new ideas, value teamwork, and believe learning should be fun for both tamariki and kaiako.
We're looking for someone who:
- loves working with toddlers
- brings both energy and calm
- works well within a team
- values relationships with tamariki and whānau
- is open to learning and sharing new ideas
- has a good sense of humor (essential when working with toddlers!)
