Location: North Hertfordshire - Hybrid. 2-3 days per week in the office. It is expected to be based in the office full time during the first 2 weeks.

Hours: Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm

They have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Portfolio BTL and Commercial Underwriter to join their established underwriting team, in either Hertfordshire or Cheshire.
You will assess new lending applications for commercial and residential mortgages for professional landlords, to evaluate quality, credit risk, and compliance with the lending policies and risk appetite. You will prepare clear and concise lending summaries, approving applications within your delegated authority or making well-reasoned recommendations to the Head of Underwriting, Director of Credit & Underwriting, or the Credit Committee.
Responsibilities for the role Mortgage Underwriter
Conduct thorough research, analysis, and assessment of individual lending applications, identifying key risks and making informed lending decisions or recommendations.
Identify any exceptions to the Bank's lending policies or guidance, providing clear recommendations and appropriate remedial actions where required. xgikmsk
