Location: Milton Keynes Hybrid 3 days WFH

Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm

About the role:

We are recruiting for an experienced Bridging Finance Underwriter to join a growing specialist finance business in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will assess and underwrite bridging finance applications in line with credit risk policy, while managing cases from application through to completion and supporting intermediary partners with new enquiries.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and underwrite new bridging finance applications in line with lending policy.
  • Review credit searches, valuations, Land Registry reports and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare clear and concise credit rationales and lending recommendations.
  • Manage a pipeline of cases from application through to completion.
  • Liaise with solicitors, introducers and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with new enquiries and provide heads of terms.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with lending policies.
  • Contribute to ongoing business improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver a proactive, first-class service to all stakeholders.

Experience required:

  • Essential - 2+ years' experience underwriting bridging finance within a specialist lender.
  • Understanding of the bridging lifecycle, from application and credit assessment through to completion and funding.
  • Proven ability to assess risk and produce clear, concise credit rationales.
  • Experience managing a case pipeline through to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of valuations, credit searches and lending due diligence.
  • Highly advantageous: Experience in refurbishment or development finance.
  • Highly advantageous: Experience with structured lending or drawdown facilities.
