The Senior UI Designer ensures the aesthetic integrity, functional clarity, and visual consistency of our client's digital products. Reporting to the Head of Products, this role provides design leadership and functional oversight for the UI workstream. For this role we would invite candidates with experience of designing Contact Centre technology to apply.
This is a highly dynamic role offering significant autonomy. Given our agile nature and decentralised Product teams, you will have the freedom to define visual standards, evolve our design language, and pivot quickly to meet user needs. You will bridge the gap between initial UX concepts and final Engineering implementation, maintaining full ownership of our Design System and hands-on high-fidelity output.
Key Responsibilities- Design Delivery & System Oversight
- Visual Leadership: Act as the primary lead for UI design, ensuring high standards of craft, typography, colour theory, and layout across all platforms.
- Hands-on Execution: Directly produce high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and production-ready assets for web and mobile interfaces.
- Design System Ownership: Manage and evolve our central Design System (Figma), ensuring component libraries are scalable, documented, and accessible.
- Triage & Review: Oversee the design-to-code handover, conducting "UI QA" to ensure Engineering builds match the intended design specifications.
- Collaboration & Governance
- Accessibility Standards: Act as the lead for digital accessibility (WCAG), ensuring our interfaces are inclusive and compliant.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Identify usability and visual risks, collaborating with UX Researchers and Product Managers to implement elegant, practical solutions.
- Stakeholder Influence: Present design rationale to senior stakeholders, balancing business requirements with user-centric visual principles.
- Tooling & Workflow
- Manage the design tech stack (e.g., Figma, Adobe CC, Prototyping tools), optimising workflows for the wider product team.
- Engineering Interface & Product Quality
- Release Readiness: Act as the "gatekeeper" for the visual layer, ensuring new features meet "design-complete" standards before going live.
- Continuous Refinement: Own the Visual Improvement Plan; identify "design debt" and drive the resolution of inconsistent UI patterns through collaboration with Engineering.
- Supplier Management: Oversee relationships with external brand agencies or asset providers (e.g., iconography sets, font licensing, or freelance illustrators).
- Essential
- Contact Centre Design experience
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of Figma (including variables, auto-layout, and components) and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Design Principles: Deep understanding of responsive design, grid systems, and mobile-first methodologies.
- Collaborative Influence: Experience working as a bridge between UX/Product and Front-end Engineering teams (familiarity with CSS/HTML constraints is vital).
- Behaviours & Cultural Alignment
- Values Driven: You will exhibit and actively promote full alignment with our Purpose, Vision, and Values.
- Agility: You will demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, utilising your autonomy to deliver results.
- Resilience: You will be a confident, resilient team player who can take constructive feedback and iterate rapidly.
- Continuous Improvement: You will be passionate about staying ahead of UI trends and emerging technologies, such as AI-assisted design.
- Desirable
- Motion Design: Experience with Micro-interactions, Lottie files, or After Effects.
- Industry Context: Experience in SaaS, FinTech, or consultancy environments.
- Prototyping: Advanced skills in Protopie, Framer, or similar high-fidelity tools.
