The Role
We’re looking for an innovative Lead Environment Artist to join our talented team of artists. This is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping immersive worlds on our AAA projects. You’ll have the opportunity to create rich, captivating environments and worlds that not only enhance gameplay, but that leave a lasting impression on our audience.
As the Lead Environment Artist you will be leading a team of talented Environment and Lighting Artists with an enthusiastic and motivational approach. You will be a key player in pushing the project’s creative vision, that you will work on and influence with our Art and Creative Directors.
What We’re Looking To See On Your CV
- Proven experience in a senior world building or environment art position (Lead or Principal level), working on multiple shipped AAA titles across whole project cycles – from initial concepting to final polish.
- Deep understanding of environmental storytelling, scene lighting and composition, environment architecture, and player experience.
- Strong experience with industry-standard development tools: Unreal Engine, Substance Painter & Designer and Maya, 3DS Max or Blender.
- Ability to think critically and creatively, with a passion for pushing boundaries in game world design.
- Strong communication and feedback skills
- Experience working with and giving feedback to external teams.
- Creativity! We would like to see a range of personal and professional pieces, with detail on your contributions and breakdowns.
- Excellent industry knowledge

- Ability to quickly concept ideas – either through 2D sketches or rapid 3D visualizations.
- Experience developing visual prototypes.
- Experience establishing and developing new IPs from scratch.
- Experience working with existing IPs.
- Good understanding of gameplay and level design.

You Will
- Spearhead the creation of detailed and immersive environments.
- Collaborate with our team of Designers, Artists and Technical Artists to deliver both gameplay and creative objectives.
- Develop and refine workflows, processes and tools.
- Consistently review designs and assets, providing guidance and constructive feedback where required.
- Mentor our team, and help foster a collaborative and creative environment.
- Bring your vision, expertise and experience to exciting projects.
