We are a video game development studio with offices in Guildford, UK and Utrecht, Netherlands. The Role
As a Technical Artist, you will be that vital link between Art and Engineering. We’re looking for someone who always strives for quality, and who enjoys unlocking the creative potential of our team through optimising processes and workflows, solving technical, system and engine challenges.
Responsibilities
- Creatively solving technical problems that benefit from a technical approach
- Working closely with our team of artists and engineers to develop and optimise asset creation workflows allowing people to build world class game content
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to our art teams
- Collaborating with multiple departments to deliver key features
- Optimizing game assets for performance and scalability
- Ensuring high quality and reliability of the game systems
Requirements
- A strong portfolio showcasing your artistic and technical skills, demonstrating how your workflows achieve results
- Proven experience as a Technical Artist, and evidence of working on shipped titles
- Demonstrable proficiency in Unreal Engine, Maya, or 3DS Max and other applicable tools
- Experience with scripting languages (C++, Python, MEL, or similar) to improve workflows and automate tasks
- Strong understanding of shaders, lighting, and rendering techniques and demonstrates an interest in leading edge methods used by the best studios around the world
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- A passion for games and a desire to create visually stunning experiences
